Resolution of Schedule Conflicts

Scheduling conflicts can occur when two menus are scheduled to play at the same time. For example, both the December 25 and the weekend menu are scheduled to play on a particular Saturday. Interaction Attendant will play the December 25 menu because days of the year take priority over days of the week.

This list below demonstrates how Interaction Attendant determines which schedule to play in a conflict.

Yearly

An unplanned menu scheduled to run on a specific day of the year takes priority over any other menu, if the unplanned menu is activated. That means that if you have a Saturday menu and Christmas menu, and Christmas falls on Saturday, the Christmas menu is played.

Monthly

A menu based upon monthly criteria takes priority over a menu scheduled to run every week.

Weekly Schedule

A menu scheduled to run on a specific day of the week takes priority over a menu scheduled to run every day. For example, if you have a lunch menu that plays every day from 1 until 2, and a weekend menu that plays on Saturday and Sunday, the weekend menu has priority.

Daily Schedule

If there is an overlap between two menus both scheduled to run every day, then the menu that started more recently is used. For example, suppose you have a menu that runs every day from 6 AM to 6 PM, and a lunch menu scheduled to run from 12 PM to 1 PM. When a call comes in at 12:30 PM, Interaction Attendant sees that the lunch menu was started more recently, and therefore uses the lunch menu.  This "tie-breaker" also applies when there are conflicts between two weekly or monthly schedules.
