Company speed dialing
Although CIC client users can easily create personal speed dial pages, and CIC administrators can provide corporate contact directories for all CIC client users, you can also create corporate speed dial entries that work from any stand-alone phone or workstation. This is as simple as creating an Input Conversion entry and a Dial Plan entry for each shortcut number. You can use existing classification names to control dialing privileges, or you can create a unique classification for each speed dial.
You can select a variety of schemes for speed dial numbers, but all speed dial numbers should observe the following guidelines:
-
Speed dial numbers can be any combination of up to six digits, but they should not begin with 0 (zero) or the number that begins internal user extensions (for example, 1 in the case of extensions 112, and 113).
-
Do not use the
#or*keys in speed dial numbers. (Manual dialing from a handset treats these keys in a special way.)
We recommend using an easy-to-remember scheme of three or four digits that all begin with the same one or two digits.
