Network devices

The following diagram displays common agent local area network environments that are commonly used with Interaction SIP Bridge:

The agent remote network must include one of the following devices:

  • Internet router with Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP) capability

The router must be able to support dynamic IP addressing for the IP telephone and the computer hosting Interaction SIP Bridge, if you do not configure static IP addresses for the computer hosting Interaction SIP Bridge and the IP telephone.

  • Ethernet switch (optional)

If you require Power over Ethernet (PoE) to run the IP telephone, you must connect the IP telephone to an Ethernet switch that supports PoE.In this configuration, Genesys recommends that you connect the computer hosting Interaction SIP Bridge to the Ethernet hub on the IP telephone with an Ethernet cable instead of the Ethernet switch or Internet router.

Important!

Both the computer hosting Interaction SIP Bridge and the IP telephone must reside within the same Ethernet subnet on the agent remote network.Communication between the IP telephone and Interaction SIP Bridge can be problematic if you connect the computer to the Internet router and the IP telephone to an Ethernet switch. You must also ensure that the IP telephone and the computer hosting Interaction SIP Bridge do not have overlapping subnets.
