Web Chat

The Web Chat service permits a client to perform the following actions:

• Initiate a web chat from POST /icws/web-chat/start.
• Disconnect a web chat from POST /icws/web-chat/exit/{participantId}.
• Reconnect to an existing web chat from POST /icws/web-chat/reconnect.
• Send a message to a web chat from POST /icws/web-chat/send-message/{participantId}.
• Set a user's typing state within the web chat from POST /icws/web-chat/typing-state/{participantId}.
• Retrieve a file which was uploaded to a web chat from GET /icws/web-chat/file/{participantId}/{fileGuid}/{fileName}.

• Periodically poll for updates about a web chat from GET /icws/web-chat/messages/{participantId}.

After a web chat has been initiated, the participant ID and chat ID returned in the response from POST /icws/web-chat/start will need to be stored and used in subsequent requests regarding that web chat. Methods with a participantId indicator in their URI template must be provided with the participant ID. The chat ID must be used when calling POST /icws/web-chat/reconnect to reconnect to an existing web chat.
