Phonetic Search

Phonetic searching uses an algorithm to break the name into a phonetic key based on the consonants. Phonetic matching allows you to locate a name when you don't know the exact spelling or it varies. For example, a phonetic search on "John" locates the names "John" and "Jon." The system doesn't find partial phonetic keys. For example, searching on "John" doesn't find "Johnny."

Note: To use phonetic searching, set the Link Mode in Link Console to "Do not Link" and ensure that the Link service is running.
