Start a Workflow on an Account

Use the WorkFlow History tab to start a workflow on an account. Once a workflow starts, you can:

  • Pause the workflow.

  • Resume the workflow after it's paused.

  • Release the parent workflow if it's waiting on a child workflow to finish processing.

  • Stop the workflow.

To start a workflow on an account

  1. From the Window toolbar, click the Workflow History icon Show account work flow history icon. The WorkFlow History tab appears.

  1. Do one of the following:

  • If you know the account number, in the Account # box, type the account number and then click the Go icon Go icon.

  • To search for an account, do the following:

    1. Click Search for Account. The Search - Search for Account window appears.

    2. Type search criteria into one or more boxes. For fewer results, provide more information. For more results, provide less information.

    3. Click Search. The results display on the Search Results tab.

    4. Double-click the account.

  1. In the toolbar on the tab, click the Start Workflow icon Start Work Flow icon. The Open WorkFlow dialog box appears.

  1. Click the workflow and then click Open. The workflow appears on the Workflow page of the WorkFlow History tab in a "Runnable" state.

  1. Open the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Latitude Software\bin" folder and double-click WorkFlow.Engine. The WorkFlow Engine begins processing the workflows that are in a "runnable" state.

  1. When processing completes, on the Workflow page, the workflow state changes to "Completed." Expand the workflow entry to view its detail.

  2. Do the following as needed:

  • To pause a workflow, click the workflow and then click the Pause icon Pause Work Flow icon. The workflow state changes to "Paused" and processing halts.

  • To resume a paused workflow, click the workflow and then click the Resume icon Resume Work Flow icon. The workflow state changes to "Runnable"

  • To release a workflow that's waiting on a child workflow to finish processing, click the workflow and then click the Release icon Layout icon. The workflow is release and processing continues.

  • To stop a workflow from processing, click the workflow and then click the Stop icon Stop Work Flow icon. In the confirmation dialog box, click Yes. The WorkFlow Engine stops the workflow and deletes it from the Workflow page of the WorkFlow History tab.
