Add a Checking or Savings Account

Use the Check tab in the Add Payment Instrument dialog box to add a checking or savings account. You must have the Add Payment Instruments permission.

To add a checking or savings account

  1. With an account displayed in the Work Form, from the menu bar, click Promise. The Arrangements panel appears.

  1. Click Maintain Wallet. The Wallet Maintenance dialog box appears.

  1. In the menu bar, click Add and then, in the Add Payment Instrument dialog box, click the Check tab.

Name: Debtor's name, exactly as it appears on the check.

Addr: Debtor's house number and street address.

CSZ: Debtor's city, state, and postal code.

Next Check #: Next check number to use.

ABA: Financial institution's routing number.

Acct: Checking or savings account number.

[Type]: Type of account, either checking or savings.

Add Wallet?: If selected, adds the checking or savings account to the wallet so that it's available during current and future Latitude sessions. If cleared, the account is available for selection during the current Latitude session only. The account is not available the next time that you log on to Latitude.

[Type of draft]: Type of payment draft, either ACH debit or paper draft. ACH debit is a direct draw from the debtor's checking or savings account. Paper draft is a debtor's check that the financial institution converts into an electronic payment for processing through the ACH network.

  1. Complete the Name, Addr, CSZ, and Next Check # boxes.

  2. To look up the routing number, do the following:

    1. Click the magnifying glass next to the ABA box. The Latitude Search - Search for Bank dialog box appears.

    2. Specify the search criteria and then click Search. The search results appear on the Search Results tab.

    3. Click the financial institution and then click Select. The dialog box closes and Latitude populates the ABA box with the routing number.

  3. Complete the remaining information and then click OK.
