A new Communication Templates setting has been created using which users can configure Email and SMS templates for each letter code. Letter codes that existed before this change can only be configured as Letters and the option to send by Email or SMS will be disabled.
Using Communication Templates, we can provide an option in outbound Emails and SMS using which debtors can unsubscribe from such communications.
New setting "Attachment Name for Standard Letter" added for Email Template Type. This is the name that will be given to the PDF of a standard letter template when sent as an attachment in an outbound email.
Communication Templates Add/Edit dialog for Email and SMS now has a new Query Name drop down that can be used to populate additional fields in the Merge Fields drop down.
Merge Fields drop down will have some account and letter request related fields populated by default. So a template can also be created by using only the default merge fields as well.
The Query Name drop down is populated with System Queries created using the Account Analysis application.
If the selected query has any columns from the Debtors table, the data for these columns will be fetched for the Recipient to whom the Email/SMS is to be sent out.
Once the system receives the unsubscribe message, the consent for that email id/phone number will be removed and unless it's reset no communication will be sent to those Email id/Phone Number.

SMS Template Id: This needs to be configured only for SMS templates and only when the actual template has been configured externally on the SMS vendor side. In such a scenario, our SMS template will contain a list of custom fields that need to be populated in the external template. Each field will be in a separate line in the template and will be a key-value pair where the key is the custom field name and the value is the custom field value. The key and value will be separated by a colon
Query for SMS Merge Fields: It will have some account and letter request related fields populated by default. So a template can also be created by using only the default merge fields as well.
SMS Template: It has list of default fields selected based on query.
