Daily Schedules

Daily schedules run a menu at the same time every day, between the start date and the end date.  The menu can run all day, or between start and end times.

Settings on this tab are evaluated only if the call arrives between the Schedule Start and Schedule End date and time.  The Schedule's Active check box must also be checked.

Time Range frame

This schedule should run all day

Runs the schedule all day, every day.

This schedule should run between these times

Runs the schedule every day between the starting and ending times.

Example Daily Schedule

The example schedule below is designed to run seven days a week, 365 days a year from 8 AM to 5 PM every day.

Selecting the daily tab creates a schedule that runs every day, without regard for the day of the week, day of the month or any other constraint.

Daily schedules can be set up to become active for a certain time window each day (8 AM – 5 PM in the example above) by selecting the "This schedule should run between these times" option in the time range box.  Similarly, the schedule can be set to run all day, 24 hours a day, by selecting the "This schedule should run all day" option in the same box.

A daily schedule that is set to run all day essentially replaces the default schedule for the date range specified in the Schedule Start Date box and the Schedule End Date box.

Holiday Schedule Example

This schedule shows how to handle a specific holiday—in this case, Thanksgiving. It will be active all day, 24 hours a day from the 23rd through the 26th of November.

By setting the Schedule Start Date and Schedule End Date to fields to specific dates and then creating a daily schedule, it is possible to define schedules that handle specific holidays or vacation periods.  The schedule above will take effect at midnight on the 25th of November 2003 (Thanksgiving) and continue to run until midnight on November 27th 2003.

A user could create a yearly schedule to handle holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, but since the actual vacation dates usually fall on different calendar day each year, daily schedules with specific start and end dates work as well.
