Create and configure the CIC administrator account

The CIC server requires a Windows domain user account to communicate with other servers across the network. Once the domain administrator has created the account, it needs to be added to the local Administrator's group on the CIC server. Local machine administrator privileges on the CIC server are necessary for installing the CIC software. IC Setup Assistant configures CIC services to start by using this account, and automatically grants it sufficient rights to start these services.

Note: For historical and consistency purposes, this section uses the term "CIC administrator account" to refer to the Windows domain user account that starts CIC services, acknowledging that the term may be misleading as the same account may or may not also be used to administrator CIC accounts in Interaction Administrator. If you plan to use a specific account to run CIC services, make sure to follow the instructions in this section to set up that account.
