Speech Recognition

MRCP for ASR

The MRCP ASR Integration allows users to integrate CIC with other ASR vendors that are MRCP 2.0 compliant.  This feature is required with Nuance Recognizer 10 or any other ASR vendors.  This feature is not required for Nuance Recognizer 9, Loquendo 7 or Interaction Speech Recognition.

NDM Support for NDM-core 6.1

Nuance Dialog Module (NDM) - Core 6.1 is now supported in Nuance Recognizer 9 and 10.

NDM - Core is a J2EE component that delivers a piece of packaged call flow in VoiceXML to accelerate the delivery of high performance and high quality speech applications.

NDM-Core 6.1 provides grammars for Yes/No (Boolean), digits, item list, phone numbers, record, natural numbers, currency, date, time, credit card number, credit card expiration, alphanumeric, zip code, social security numbers, and custom context.

Any use of NDM grammars require the VoiceXML Interpreter licensing.

Nuance Recognizer 10 Support for 4.0

Nuance Recognizer 10 is supported in CIC 4.0 SU3.  This feature requires the MRCP ASR Integration feature.

Interaction Speech Recognition - Native CIC Speech Recognition (ASR)

Interaction Speech Recognition (ISR) is a new feature that is embedded within the Media Server. The feature provides speech recognition and built-in grammars for the following:

  •  Company directory

  •  Yes/No (Boolean)

  •  Digits

  •  Dates

  •  Time

  •  Numbers

  •  Currency

  •  Phone numbers

Typical ASR engines limit users to a certain number of words that can be used for a particular license. Interaction Speech Recognition does not limit the number of words within the application.

Currently, Interaction Speech Recognition only supports US English. Additional language support will be released in future service updates.

This feature is activated with the purchase of the Interaction Speech Recognition port license and runs on the media server. It does not require a separate ASR server.

Once you apply the license for this feature, select the Interaction Speech Recognition object in the Recognition container of Interaction Administrator, double-click the Configuration item, and select the Enabled check box.
