Migrating SIP numbers

Here's how Customer Interaction Center migrates SIP numbers that are stored in a non-standardized form by third-party programs. Rather than mapping alpha characters to digits, and removing format and white spaces, the number will be considered a SIP number—and only white space will be removed—if:

  • The input number has a sip: prefix

  • The input number has an @ symbol immediately followed by an alpha character

  • There are one or more periods ( .), in any position, following the @ symbol

The following examples show which numbers are considered SIP numbers, and which numbers are not:
