Email Profiles
A profile is a collection of predefined characteristics that Attendant compares to an interaction, to decide whether to select the profile for processing. Email profiles examine address information in an email message. Attendant supports two types of email profiles:
-
Custom Email profiles analyze messages from specific mailboxes. Filtering is performed by examining "From:" fields in each message.
-
Default Email profiles select messages that do not match custom email profiles. Since default email profiles do not examine fields in a message, or allow selection of mailboxes to monitor, they catch messages that do not match custom profiles.
-
Attendant's Email handlers monitor the mailboxes specified by non-default profiles. When a new message enters one of those mailboxes, the handlers find the best-matching profile for the email interaction. The "best" match is the most specific match among all of the profiles that are configured to monitor the mailbox from which the email was retrieved. If none of the profiles match the email, then the message is handled by the Default Email Profile.
