Copying and Pasting Call Web Service Actions
You can copy a Call Web Service action to the Windows Clipboard and then paste it into another process.
When you copy a Call Web Service action to the Clipboard, it includes information about the web service that the action calls. When you paste the action into another process, the pasted code checks to see if the web service is defined in the process where it's being pasted. If not, the web service definition is pasted into the process.
To copy and paste a Call Web Service action:
-
In the workspace, right-click the desired Call Web Service action and click Copy in the shortcut menu.
-
In the Navigation pane, double-click the task in the other process that will get the pasted action.
The second process displays the task in its workspace. -
Right-click the task at the point where you want to insert the pasted process.
-
In the shortcut menu, click Paste.
IPA Designer inserts the pasted process at that point in the task. -
Review the pasted Call Web Service action and the web service definition to verify that they are correct.
Note: If you copy a Call Web Service action to another process, then change the web service definition in the destination process, IPA Designer treats the pasted web service as a different web service from the original.
Note: In IC 4.0 Service Update 1 (SU1) and later versions, IPA Designer automatically includes any referenced items (such as variables) when you copy and paste. It also updates the references to the pasted location.
