Adding Actions to a Work Item

Click the appropriate links to add actions to a work item (1) or a work item page (2) in the Work Item Overview view (see figure).

IPA Designer includes a built-in variable called WorkItem.CurrentUser. It lets you do actions (routing, etc.) on work items and pages based on the current user of the work item. For example, you might reassign the work item to a different user based on the current user's skills or availability.

Both work items and work item pages can have local variables. Using these variables, you have individual control over work items and pages. The Work Item Overview view and the Page Design view both display a Variables tab. The tab shows currently-defined local variables. To create a local variable for the work item or the page, click the plus sign icon at the top of the Variables tab.
