Deleting a Process

Appropriate user rights are required to publish, deactivate, or delete a process. If IPA Designer shows an error message when you try to do those tasks, contact your system administrator to obtain the required user rights.

To delete a process:

  • In the Processes list, right-click the process, then click Delete in the shortcut menu.

If you simply want to remove the process from your IPA workspace without deleting it, see Removing a process from your workspace. Removing a process simply gets it out of your way. You can restore it later.

There is seldom any need to delete a process, because you can easily remove it from your visible workspace. However, you can delete any process, even one that is currently running. Any currently-running instances of the process will continue until they terminate normally.

Note: If you delete a process in IPA Designer, then Run Process actions in other processes might still show it as available until after you close IPA Designer and re-start it. Even if a Run Process action lists a deleted process, it is no longer available. If a process is currently running, you cannot delete it.
