Saving a Process

When you save a process, IPA Designer saves any changes you have made in the process, locally to your computer, but does not make a separate versioned copy of the process on the CIC server. This differs from checking in a process, which does save a separate version of the process on the CIC server.

To save a process, either:

  • On the File menu, click Save <process name>.

or

  • Click the Save  button on the IPA Designer toolbar.

Tip: When you only want to save changes to a process for your exclusive and subsequent editing on your computer, save the process instead of checking it in. That saves the current version of the process with your changes.

Each time you check in a process, IPA Designer keeps a separate system-wide version of the process for that check-in. Check in the process only when you want to share your current version of the process design with other people for their further development, review, or publishing.
