Compliance and Security

This release includes the following compliance and security changes.

SHA-2 Support for CIC

CIC can now use SHA-2 certificates for communication between CIC and its subsystems. This update allows customers to use either SHA-1 or 256-bit SHA-2 for certificates signed by the CIC server group authority. For more information, see “SHA-2 Upgrade Overview” in the Security Features Technical Reference.

FIPS Compliance for JITC

CIC client applications can now operate in Windows environments where the System cryptography: Use FIPS compliant algorithms for encryption, hashing, and signing group policy is enabled.

Additional Password Policy Complexity Options

The CIC password policy now supports additional complexity options.
