Interaction Client .NET Edition

Problem Reporter

The Problem Reporter feature in Interaction Client .NET Edition allows users to report application issues directly from the application. The feature allows the user to specify the subject and description for a problem, include log files, and optionally include a screenshot. The system administrator can specify the location of the upload and an email address where problem reports should be sent.

Email Spell Checking Improvements

Interaction Client .NET Edition now allows email spell checking for multiple languages.  The user selects which language to use for spell checking as part of the client configuration. The list of available languages includes those in our packaged spell checker (Wintertree), and any languages that are installed with Microsoft Word. The languages that Interaction Client .NET Edition supports are English, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Iberian), Spanish, and Swedish.

When writing an email message, the user can select the spell check language from a list.

Text Masking

Text masking or filtering allows for the redaction of text from chats, emails, and the corresponding log files. The feature is currently supported with emails that enter the system via the Exchange Web Services (EWS) connector (not MAPI), as well as for all chats.

You can turn on a default  filter on to mask credit card information. Additional filters can be configured to allow all kinds of strings to be masked in the system. The configuration uses regular expressions.

Interaction Client Templates

With the Client Template functionality, system administrators, supervisors, or others with the correct security rights can create client templates. A client template consists of the client layout configuration, including column selection, order, width, and the configuration of tabs and other views. All client template settings are saved on the IC server.

Once a client template has been created, you can use Interaction Administrator to apply the template to users, members of a role, or members of a workgroup. You can use the templates to create a default client layout that you can apply to new or existing system users to create a standard client layout. The layout applies to all users and reduces training time. Once a template is applied, the client for that user looks the same as configured in the template (assuming the user has the correct security rights). The user can, if they have the correct security rights, modify their client from that point forward.

Microsoft Outlook Interaction Client Add-in

The initial release of the Interaction Client Outlook add-in adds CIC functionality on the desktop within Microsoft Outlook. The add-in is embedded in Microsoft Outlook and provides the following functionality to Microsoft Outlook:

  •  When working with an email, appointment, or contact in Outlook, users see real-time status information for contacts who are CIC users (for example, internal employees).

  •  A Quick Dial option now appears in the context menu within Outlook Contacts.

The Outlook add-in requires Interaction Client .NET Edition to be running on the user’s desktop. The Outlook add-in uses the already connected .NET Client connection to communicate with the IC server.
