Default Inbound Call Profile

Calls come into a server and then are filtered by profiles.  Information about the call is compared to call characteristics defined in profile nodes.  The call is processed by the custom profile that matches the call, or by a default profile that Attendant uses to process calls that don't match user-defined profiles.  Interaction Attendant creates a default profile automatically for each call flow.  A default profile cannot be deleted.  The default profile is used when:

  • It is the only profile, or...

  • The characteristics of the incoming call do not match the criteria defined by any of your custom profiles.

  • You can customize a default profile to play a wave file, but its filtering criterion are disabled.  This ensures that the default profile always matches calls that get past your custom profiles.  The following options are always disabled on a Default Profile:

Node Characteristics frame

Name

The name field is disabled so that the profile is always named Default Profile for easy identification.

Active check box

This check box is disabled, since default profiles are always available at runtime.

Incoming Call Selection frame

You cannot configure DNIS, ANI, Line, or Line Name values for a default profile. This is because the default profile is designed to pick up all calls that are not picked up by other profiles.  However, you can create custom profiles that filter calls by examining specific DNIS or ANI values, particular line groups, or individual line names.

For information about other options on this form, see Custom Inbound Call Profile.
