Refresh Server Data

This command polls all connected servers to retrieve information about workgroups, schedules, users, stations, skills, DB sources, lines, line groups, schedules, languages, and default languageā€”in other words, for information that is managed outside of Attendant in Interaction Administrator.

When you connect to a server, Attendant queries it for configuration data.  Refreshing data ensures that Attendant is synchronized with the configurations of connected servers.  If you have been working in Attendant for an extended period of time, it is a good idea to refresh Attendant's internal snapshot of the server configuration before publishing changes.

Nothing obvious happens when you execute the Refresh Server Data command.  However, Interaction Attendant uses the information received to update options presented in property sheets and dialogs.  Major changes to the server configuration could invalidate a configuration, and cause error indicators to be displayed in the tree.  For example, if an CIC Administrator removed a workgroup referenced in an auto-attendant menu, Attendant would flag one or more nodes in error.  For this reason it is a good idea to refresh periodically, especially before publishing.

Refresh Server Data is disabled in the Edit menu unless a Server node is selected in the tree.  It refreshes all connected servers, unless you refresh specific servers using the Manage Servers dialog.

  1. Select a Server node in the tree.

  2. Pull down the Edit menu and select Refresh Server Data.

  3. Wait a few seconds for the operation to complete.  Then resume your work in Attendant.
