Configure the SQL Database Files

Specifies the directory locations for the Reporting /Recorder/Tracker SQL Server database data file and log file, and the sizing specifications for each.

As part of the SQL Server database requirements, you should have already performed your database space planning, including:

• Determining the target size of your CIC database. If you are configuring the database for Interaction Recorder, Interaction Tracker, or Interaction Optimizer as well as Reporting, make sure you account for the additional space required. Use the CIC Database Space Planning Spreadsheet for the latest CIC release, available on the PureConnect Product Information site at https://my.inin.com/products/Pages/Downloads.aspx.

Use Default Values

Depending on the sizing determinations you made, keep the default values or de-select "Use default values" and enter other values. We recommend that only the database administrator or other experienced user change the default values.

Data File Path

Drive and directory on the SQL Server where IC Setup Assistant should create the CIC database. The data file name is created by the script and depends on the database name.

Log File Path

Drive and directory on the SQL Server where IC Setup Assistant should create the transaction log for the CIC database. It can be on a separate physical drive or directory from the data file. The log file name is created by the script and depends on the database name.

Initial File Size (MB)

Size of the initially-created data file or log file. CIC database configuration in IC Setup Assistant provides a default initial file size for the Reporting database.

The following table shows the default initial file size values set by IC Setup Assistant.

The initial file sizes are larger if Interaction Recorder and/or Interaction Tracker licenses are detected. For more information, see the Database chapter in the PureConnect Installation and Configuration Guide.

Maximum Growth Size

Maximum size the data or log file can grow following the initial file creation. The default value is UNLIMITED. The file will grow until the disk is full.

Growth Increment

Numerical increment for the rate the data or log file will grow following the initial file creation, before the maximum growth size is reached or the disk is full.

The following table shows the default growth increment values set by IC Setup Assistant.

IC Survey Location: This information may be included in the IC Survey file. If so, the selection/value will appear in this dialog. You can review the contents of the IC Survey file by selecting View Survey in the Load IC Survey File dialog or opening it in a Pre-Install survey in the IC Survey system.
