Select the License File

Before running IC Setup Assistant, you should have obtained your product release version license and copied the license file to the CIC Server or location accessible from the CIC Server.

IC Setup Assistant will not run without a valid license file. If you have not already obtained the license for this product release version, do so now. Note that you must be certified by PureConnect Education to download this license. For details, see the PureConnect Installation and Configuration Guide and the PureConnect Licensing Technical Reference in the PureConnect Documentation Library.

License File

By default, IC Setup Assistant looks in the \I3\IC directory for your license file. If your license file is not located in this directory, browse to the appropriate directory.

The license file is hostid.i3lic.

Important: A valid license is required. IC Setup Assistant will load a previous CIC version, but the CIC system will not function correctly unless a valid license is loaded.

Host ID

IC Setup Assistant locates the CIC Server's unique Host ID to be used by CIC's license management. In previous releases, MAC Address was used. Like the MAC Address, the Host ID is tied to the NIC (ethernet) card. (You may have used the GetHostID utility available on the CIC 2015 R1 or later .iso file or on the PureConnect Production Information site at https://my.inin.com/products/cic/Pages/Utilities-Downloads.aspx. to generate the Host ID for your license.)

If your CIC Server is a virtual server, see the CIC Virtualization Technical Reference in the PureConnect Documentation Library for information about Host ID’s on a virtual machine.

If there are redundant or multiple NICs, you are presented with a list of multiple Host ID's. Please note that the Host ID used for the CIC license will correspond to one specific NIC. The simplest way to determine which NIC corresponds to the CIC license is to match the last six characters of the Host ID to the MAC address.

Important: Make sure that the NIC that corresponds to the CIC license is always active and available. If you disable or otherwise uninstall it, CIC will no longer function correctly. It will run as if the server is unlicensed.

Product

Once IC Setup Assistant locates the license file, the Product field appears, indicating a Customer Interaction Center license.

License Details

Click the License Details button to view information about the license file. It is provided so that you can confirm that it contains what the customer site requires.

The information in the license file determines the configuration options that IC Setup Assistant will offer.

For more information on IC licenses, see the PureConnect Licensing Technical Reference in the PureConnect Documentation Library.
