Introduction

Welcome to the IC Setup Assistant!

The IC Setup Assistant is a wizard that asks a series of questions to configure your CIC Server in a new or upgrade installation. The questions fall within the following categories.

Note: An upgrade installation is a subset of these categories.

  • CIC administrator and network information

  • CIC license

  • Dial plan

  • Database (Reporting, Interaction Recorder, Interaction Tracker, and Interaction Optimizer)

  • CIC optional components, such as Switchover, Multi-Site RTM, and TFTP Server

  • Site Information (Interaction Tracker — add-on license)

  • Certificate Signing Option

  • Interaction Recorder (add-on license)

  • Speech Recognition engine (add-on license)

  • Mail provider

  • Log Retrieval Assistant

  • SIP Lines and Default Registration Group

  • Dialogic HMP configuration

  • Device detection

  • Stations

  • Users

  • Workgroups

  • Roles

  • Default hours of operation

  • Group call processing

  • DCOM security

IC Setup Assistant configures your CIC Server according to how you answer the questions.

We recommend running Setup Assistant after business hours because some configuration processes require significant server resources.

IC Survey system

If you choose, you can fill out a Pre-Install survey prior to running the IC Setup Assistant in a new installation, and load the survey responses on the IC Server. When you run IC Setup Assistant, it will read the IC Survey file— which contains the Pre-Install survey information and details how the CIC Server should be configured.

If you do not fill out a Pre-Install survey, IC Setup Assistant will create an IC Survey file based on your choices.

Completing the Setup Assistant configuration

IC Setup Assistant must be completed before you can run CIC.

If you have to exit IC Setup Assistant before completing all the dialogs and/or committing your choices, everything you have entered so far is saved automatically to your IC Survey file.

To make changes after running IC Setup Assistant

After committing your choices, you can re-run IC Setup Assistant to make certain configuration changes that cannot be performed in Interaction Administrator or anywhere else in CIC.

Other configuration changes must be made in Interaction Administrator, accessible from the Start menu.
