When to Run IC Setup Assistant

We recommend running Setup Assistant after business hours because some configuration processes require significant server resources.

New installations

Running IC Setup Assistant is the final step in a new CIC Server installation.

For more information, see the PureConnect New Installation Checklists and the PureConnect Installation and Configuration Guide in the PureConnect Documentation Library.

Upgrades

Setup Assistant supports upgrades from IC 2.3.1 and 2.4 to 3.0.

When you insert the IC product disc or installation media in the IC Server to start an upgrade IC Server installation, the Upgrade Installation Task List appears. Follow the steps in this Task List in the order presented. IC Setup Assistant is the final step in the Task List.

For more information, see the Upgrade Guide in the IC Documentation Library on the Support Web site.

To make changes after the initial or upgrade installation

After committing your choices, you can re-run IC Setup Assistant to make certain configuration changes that cannot be performed in Interaction Administrator or anywhere else in CIC.

Other configuration changes must be made in Interaction Administrator, accessible from the Start menu.
