Publishing a Process

Publishing a process makes it available for authorized users to launch on demand and active use in production.

Appropriate user rights are required to publish, deactivate, or delete a process. If IPA Designer shows an error message when you try to do those tasks, contact your system administrator to obtain the required user rights.

To publish a process:

  1. In the process list, click the name of the desired process.

  2. On the Process menu, click Publish. Alternatively, you can click Publish on the toolbar.

The process is now available for deployment. Authorized users can now launch the process. When you publish a process, IPA Designer automatically checks it in.

Note: Interaction Administrator lists the process in its IPA container as soon as you create it. The CIC Client does not display unpublished processes. An administrator can set permissions to view processes in the Users container. The permissions control which user(s) can see the process.

Tip: If a work item page has a password box bound to a variable, and another control on the same page is bound to the same variable, then IPA Designer will not publish the process. For more information, see Telling Data-Bound Controls Where to Send or Get Their Data and Password Box.
